EXAMINATION FOR OFFICER POST

1. NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY (NDA)

You can join NDA by taking the exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This exam is conducted twice a year in all major cities throughout India.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age - 16.5 to 19.5 years(at the time of commencement of course)

Nationality – Indian

Gender - Men and Women

Educational Qualifications - 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Appearing final year students can also eligible to apply.


Branches - The entry through NDA is open for Flying branch, Ground duty (tech) and Ground duty(non tech). All cadets of Flying branch and Ground duty (tech) would be offered B Tech in NDA and cadets of Ground duty (Non-tech) would be offered B Sc degree.

2. CDSE (COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES EXAMINATION)

Men can enter through this mode of entry and will get a Permanent Commission.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age - 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course)

Nationality – Indian

Marital Status - Single

Gender - Men only.

Educational Qualifications - Graduate (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level)/BE/B Tech (Four Year Course).
Final Year/semester students are also eligible to apply, provided they produce Degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

3.AFCAT EXAM (Air Force Common Admission Test)

Advertisements for AFCAT are released by the IAF in the months of June and December.

  • FLYING BRANCH (SSC FOR MEN AND WOMEN)

You can apply through AFCAT for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch. Short Service Commission in Flying branch is for 14 years with no further extension.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age - 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course).Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed up to 26 years(at the time of commencement of course).

Nationality - Indian

Marital Status – Single

Gender - Men and Women.

Educational Qualifications - Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and

Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent
OR
BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Final year students are eligible to apply provided candidate should not have any present backlog and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks up to the last semester/ year at the time of AFSB testing and they produce provisional/ original degree issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

  • NCC SPECIAL ENTRY (FOR MEN AND WOMEN)

(Candidates can apply online through NCC Special Entry)  As an Air Wing Senior Division ’C’ Certificate holder of the National Cadet Corps, you can apply to the Flying Branch of the Indian Air Force. Men & women can join the Air Force through this mode of entry. Permanent Commission offered for men and Short Service Commission for men and women.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age –20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course). Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed up to 26 years(at the time of commencement of course).

Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Final Year/semester students are also eligible to apply, provided they do not have any present backlogs at the time of AFSB Testing and produce Degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

NCC Air Wing Senior Division ’C’ certificate and validity of the certificate would be two years before the date of advertisement.

  • GROUND DUTY TECHNICAL ENTRY
Age - 20 to 26 years (at the time of commencement of course)

Nationality - Indian

Marital Status - Candidates should be unmarried.

Short Service Commission both Men and Women.

Educational Qualifications for Aeronautical Electronical Branch

Eligible only when a candidate should have minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and have undergone any one of the following educational qualifications:-

A minimum of four year graduation / integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering / Technology from recognised university
OR
Cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India)
OR
Cleared Section A and B examination of Aeronautical Society of India
OR
Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies
With a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines.

Educational Qualifications for WEAPON SYSTEMS (WS) BRANCH -

Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and

Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Educational Qualifications for ADMINISTRATION BRANCH -

Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with 60% marks or equivalent 
OR
cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Educational Qualifications for ACCOUNTS BRANCH -

Passed 10+2 and done graduation in any of the following streams with 60 % marks or equivalent from a recognized university:-

B.Com degree (minimum three year degree course)
Bachelor of Business Administration (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance)
Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA.
B.Sc. with specialization in Finance.

Educational Qualifications for LOGISTICS BRANCH -

Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with 60% marks or equivalent
OR
cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Educational Qualifications for EDUCATION BRANCH -

Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline

Educational Qualifications for METEOROLOGY BRANCH -

Passed 10+2 and B Sc with Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or four year Graduation in Engineering/Technology discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following streams:-
Communication Engineering.
Computer Engineering/Technology.
Computer Engineering and Application.
Computer Science and Engineering/Technology.
Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Electronics Engineering/Technology.

EXAMINATION FOR NON OFFICER (Including Agniveer) POST

1. Agniveervayu

Age will be in a range from 17.5 years to 21 years

Only unmarried candidates (male & female) will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveervayu and they shall undertake not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years.

Educational Qualifications for Science Subjects -

Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from an Education Board listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. 
OR 
Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course). 
OR 
Passed Two years Vocational Course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Maths from State Education Boards/Councils which are listed in COBSE with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Educational Qualifications for Other Than Science Subjects -

Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any subject approved by Central / State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. 
OR 
Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

2. GROUP ‘Y: MED ASST TRADE

For General Candidates:

Age : 17- 21 Years

Education Qualification :

Passed 10+2/ Intermediate/ equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from any Education Boards recognized by Central/ State/ UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, and 50% marks in English
OR
Passed two years Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from any Education Boards recognized by Central/ State/ UT with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

For Pharmacist Candidates:

Age : 19-24 Years

Education Qualification :

Passed intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. In addition, Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy with minimum 50% in aggregate with valid registration from State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) at the time of enrolment will be a mandatory requirement.

3. Agniveervayu (Musician)

Age will be in a range from 17.5 years to 21 years

Only unmarried candidates male will be eligible

Educational Qualification -

Passed Matriculation/ 10th or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any Govt recognized School/ Board. 

Music Ability -

(i) Candidates must have proficiency in music with accuracy in tempo, pitch and singing one complete song. They should be able to perform one preparatory tune and any of the notations i.e. Staff notation/ Tablature/ Tonic Solfa/ Hindustani/ Carnatic, etc. Candidates must be able to tune individual instruments (in case of instruments require tuning) and match unknown notes on vocal or instruments. 

(ii) Candidates must have proficiency in playing any one instrument from list A or B.

(iii) It is desirable that the candidates have proficiency to play two instruments (one each from list A & B above). 

Musical Experience Certificate - 

Candidates should have any one of the following experience certificate:- 

(i) Grade 5th or equivalent or above in one instrument from a recognized music institute such as TCL or RSM, KM Music Conservatory, Bangalore School of Music, TSM, GMI, Berklee School of Music etc.

(ii) Diploma or equivalent in the field of music for candidates performing Hindustani or Carnatic Classical Music from any recognized University.
